Fieldwork options for CHAD majors (CAS 494)

Fieldwork

The Center for Autism, Applied Developmental Core has partnered with the Department of Child & Adolescent Studies to expand our autism-specific fieldwork options for completion of CAS 494 coursework.

CAS students have obtained fieldwork positions at a number of the agencies listed on our Community Positions page

Each year (usually in Spring), CAS, the Center for Autism, and CICE collaborates to provide a CAS 494 advanced fieldwork course specific to early intervention with children with autism. Students can email us at autismcenterkids@fullerton.edu for information about this course offering.

Students interested in exploring a fieldwork placement in early intervention for children with ASD can consult our publication, “So You are Thinking of Becoming a Behavioral Interventionist for Children with Autism!”

Several sites are available for working with children with autism through CAS 494 credit. More information on CAS 494 available here.

Local agencies interested in becoming a CAS fieldwork site should contact Dr. Baker at jbaker@fullerton.edu
